From Bengaluru To Mysuru: This Is How Karnataka Plans To Welcome Happy New Year 2025

Planning to celebrate the New Year in Bengaluru? You can enjoy festivities at your favourite spots until 1am. Karnataka's home minister, G Parameshwara, announced that hotels, restaurants, and pubs have been granted permission to remain open late for New Year's Eve. He wished everyone a happy new year and assured that safety measures are in place for celebrations across the state.

While Bengaluru and Mysuru allow extended celebrations, other regions have restrictions. Malnad and Old Mysuru areas, including popular trekking spots like Chikkamagaluru hills and Jog Falls, are off-limits from 6pm to 6am. This ban also applies to riverbanks and waterfalls in these regions.

Safety Measures and Restrictions

In Mysuru, similar permissions have been granted for New Year parties at hotels and private venues until 1am. Party organisers must ensure that CCTV cameras are operational before hosting events. Meanwhile, civic employees in Bengaluru have been urged not to take leave until January 3 to maintain law and order.

Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts are preparing extensively for the New Year. Mangaluru City police commissioner Anupam Agrawal stated that beaches will be open until midnight. Panambur Beach will welcome night visitors first, followed by Tannir Bhavi Blue Flag Beach and Tannir Bhavi Beach.

Beach Celebrations in Coastal Areas

In Udupi district, beaches will remain accessible until late evening. However, St Mary's Island will close by its usual time of 6pm. Udupi SP Dr Arun K has advised beachgoers to be cautious during their visits.

If you're considering camping by a riverbank or trekking to welcome the new year, you might need to reconsider your plans due to informal bans at most hill stations and trekking hotspots from 6pm to 6am.

The deputy chief minister of Karnataka, DK Shivakumar, has instructed all zonal officials to be on duty during this period. "I've directed all zonal officials to ensure they are on duty to serve the people," he said.
