Driver Details Bengaluru CEO Suchana Seth's 12-Hour Journey With Son's Dead Body In Car

Rayjohn D'Souza, the cab driver who drove Suchana Seth, the Bengaluru CEO who allegedly killed her four-year-old son, from North Goa has opened up on his 12-hour journey with the dead body of her child in his cab.

In an interview with India Today TV, D'Souza revealed that the Bengaluru CEO's behaviour was suspicious from the beginning. She had asked him to carry the bag containing the dead body.

"I got a call from the service apartment at night saying that I have to drop a woman to Bengaluru on an urgent basis," the website quoted him as saying. He had arrived at the apartment 'Sol Banyan Grande' in North Goa's Candolim at 12.30 am.

"I asked her why the bag was so heavy and if there were liquor bottles in it. Madam said yes, there were liquor bottles," he told the website.

According to him, she was silent throughout the journey and only once she had asked him to stop the vehicle to buy the water bottle. He has said that she remained calm even during the 4-hour roadblock at the Goa-Karnataka border.

"I told madam it would take 5-6 hours for the jam to clear and if she wants, I can take a U-turn and drop her at the airport. She refused and said we will go when the traffic opens," the driver stated,

"Then I felt a little odd because on one side she was in a hurry to go and on the other side, she had no problem despite the traffic," he added.

However, the cops called him after the cab had crossed the Karnataka border. The police informed him that blood stains had been discovered inside the woman's room. So, they expressed suspicion that she might have had a child with her, and the child was not present when she departed.

"Later on, I got another call from the police that the address and details given by madam were fake. Now I was 100 per cent sure that something was wrong," D'souza added. Then, the cops asked him to stop at the nearest police station.

On Google Maps, he noticed that the closest police station was situated behind a U-turn. However, opting for a U-turn might have raised her alarm, so he refrained from doing so. The challenge for him was the boards were in Kannada and he could not read it.

He then stopped at a restaurant to enquire about the nearest police station. "Then I sat in the car and reached the police station. As soon as I parked the car at the police station, Madam asked why did you bring me here? I told her that I was getting a lot of calls from the police and they wanted to talk to you," the cabbie said.

Once reaching the police station, the cops searched the vehicle and found the dead body in the bag. "Madam remained calm throughout the journey and showed no nervousness. She neither call anyone nor did she receive any, except for the one call which was probably from the service apartment," D'souza stated.

"Even when the body was recovered, she was normal," he added.

Seth was arrested from Chitradurga in Karnataka on Monday night on the instructions of Goa police and brought to Goa on Tuesday.

On the other hand, the accused has denied her involvement in the crime during the interrogation and claimed the child was already dead when she got up from sleep, sources told PTI.

The post-mortem has revealed the child was smothered to death either with a cloth or a pillow, according to officials.

Meanwhile, Seth's estranged husband Venkat Raman performed the last rites at Harishchandra Ghat at Rajaji Nagar in Bengaluru.

Going by her LinkedIn profile, Seth is an AI ethics expert and data scientist with over 12 years of experience in mentoring data science teams, and scaling machine learning solutions at startups and industry research labs.
