Delhi-Bengaluru Akasa Air Flight With 174 Passengers Lands At IGI Airport After Bomb Threat
A Delhi-Bengaluru Akasa Air flight carrying 184 individuals made an emergency return to Indira Gandhi International Airport on Wednesday after receiving a bomb threat.
In a statement, Akasa Air confirmed that flight QP 1335, originally scheduled to land in Bengaluru, had to divert back to Delhi as a precautionary measure. The aircraft was carrying 174 passengers, 3 infants, and 7 crew members.

"Akasa Air flight QP 1335, operating from Delhi to Bengaluru on October 16, 2024, received a security alert. The Emergency Response teams closely monitored the situation and recommended diverting the flight back to Delhi. The captain followed all emergency protocols to ensure a safe landing at IGI Airport around 2 PM," said an Akasa Air spokesperson.
This incident comes just a day after multiple flights, including one bound for the United States, received bomb threat messages via social media, prompting heightened security drills at airports. On Monday, similar threats targeted three international flights from Mumbai, though these were later determined to be hoaxes.
Additionally, on Tuesday, an Air India flight from Delhi to Chicago was diverted to Canada following another bomb threat. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) confirmed that the aircraft made an emergency landing in Iqaluit, Nunavut, and all 211 passengers and crew safely disembarked.
Over the last two days, at least 10 Indian flights have been subjected to bomb threats, with no suspicious findings after thorough security checks.
