A tragic incident unfolded in Bengaluru as a seven-story building collapsed during heavy rainfall. The collapse, which occurred in the Horamavu Agara area around 1 pm, resulted in the deaths of three individuals, while three others remain unaccounted for. CCTV footage of the incident has now created a buzz on the internet.

The CCTV video shows how within seconds a multistory building fell down and turned into dust and debris.

Eyewitnesses reported hearing a loud noise before the structure fell. At that time, approximately 20 people were inside. The video shows workers on the ground floor as the building collapses like a deck of cards. Viewer discretion is advised when watching this footage.

Bengaluru Building Collapse: Rescue Efforts and Casualties

D. Devaraja, Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) Bengaluru, stated that initially, twenty people were trapped. "One of them has died, and 14 were rescued. Five are still missing," he said. Rescue operations are ongoing to locate those missing.

An eyewitness mentioned that they were on a lunch break when they heard a loud sound and felt the building shake. Mehfoos, another eyewitness, shared with ANI that a man working inside died instantly when the building collapsed.

The recent rains in Bengaluru have been devastating, claiming five lives so far. In addition to the three labourers who died in this collapse, two children drowned in Kengeri Lake. Furthermore, a 56-year-old woman lost her life navigating potholes during heavy rain in Sarjapur.

Devaraja also noted that seven workers were present at the site during the collapse; one of them died while three others sustained injuries and have been hospitalised. The heavy rainfall is believed to be a contributing factor to this tragic event.
