Bidadi Murder: Calls for Justice for Khushi Grow Louder After 15-Year-Old Girl’s Body Found on Railway Tracks
The hashtag Justice For Khushi is trending across Instagram and Twitter (X) as public outrage mounts over the death of a 15-year-old differently-abled girl whose body was found in a semi-nude condition on railway tracks near Bhadrapur village, close to Bidadi near Bengaluru, earlier this week. Though the incident occurred days ago, fresh anger has erupted online, with thousands demanding accountability and swift justice.

In a heart-wrenching video now widely shared on social media, the victim's mother is seen crying inconsolably. She alleges that her daughter, who was both deaf and mute, was subjected to brutal violence by a group of 6 men. "My daughter had no way to cry for help... her neck was slit, her hand broken," she says through tears, pleading for justice. The visuals have intensified public demands for action and drawn national attention to the case.
The victim, a Class 8 student at a residential school in Bengaluru Urban district, belonged to the nomadic Hakki Pikki community. She had returned home to Bhadrapur for the holidays. According to locals, she attended a birthday celebration at a neighbour's house and went missing soon after. Her family and community members launched a search and later informed the police when she failed to return.
Hours later, villagers found her body in a semi-nude condition near the railway tracks and alerted the authorities. The police registered a case of murder and shifted the body to Rajarajeshwari Medical College and Hospital for post-mortem. While the report has not been officially released yet, but multiple reports suggested that the body bore multiple injuries, prompting concerns about possible sexual violence, which is yet to be confirmed by forensic findings.
The girl was one of four differently-abled siblings raised by a single mother. Her death has sparked protests in the village, with residents decrying the lack of safety, poor infrastructure, and rising incidents involving anti-social elements in the area. Protesters have demanded better street lighting, stronger police presence, and urgent action against those responsible.
Superintendent of Police, Ramanagara district, Srinivasa Gowda visited the scene and assured a thorough investigation. "There were no immediate signs of sexual assault, but we are awaiting the full post-mortem report. Several people have been detained for questioning," he said.
Leaders Visit Family, Rs 4.62 lakh Compensation Announced
Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar and Magadi MLA H.C. Balakrishna met the bereaved family and expressed their condolences. Shivakumar, who was accompanied by senior officials, announced ₹4.12 lakh as compensation from the district administration and ₹50,000 from the local panchayat.
"This is a tragic and painful incident. The police will pursue all leads and ensure those responsible are brought to justice," Shivakumar told reporters.
As investigations continue, the online momentum behind #JusticeForKhushi is amplifying the call for answers-and action.
