Bengaluru Traffic Alert: Road Closed Near Palace Road, Bellary Road For 2 Days; New Routes Announced
In anticipation of the Sri Guru Siddaramaeshwara 852nd Jayanti Mahotsav, set to take place at the Palace Ground in Bangalore on January 14 and 15, significant preparations have been made to accommodate the large number of attendees. With prominent figures such as Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar expected to join, alongside other ministers and dignitaries, an influx of 10,000 to 15,000 visitors from various districts is anticipated. To manage this, the Bangalore Traffic Police has enacted traffic controls in the vicinity of Palace Ground and Bellary Road to alleviate potential congestion.

To further support the event's smooth operation, specific travel and parking guidelines have been established for buses and vehicles coming from different parts of the city. Attendees are directed to park at Gate No. 02 Tripuravasini Palace Grounds, with entry points from Windsor Manor Junction, Bellary Road, and several other specific routes for those approaching from Yeshwanthpur side, Cantonment Railway Station, and the inner city. Signboards will then guide participants on foot to the venue, ensuring an organized approach to managing the crowd.
Advisory for Road Users and Traffic Management Plans
In light of the significant audience drawn to the Jayanti Mahotsav, the Bangalore Traffic Police have advised motorists not involved in the festivities to seek alternative routes. This recommendation aims to circumvent the heightened traffic expected around Palace Road, M.V. Jayaram Road, Bellary Road, Cunningham Road, Miller's Road, and Jayamahal Road, among other areas. By diverting through less congested paths, the flow of traffic can be maintained more effectively, reducing the impact on the city's daily operations.
Additionally, the city is preparing for the Invent Jesus Prine Feast Procession, scheduled for the afternoon of January 14, expected to attract between 60-80 thousand participants. The overlap of these two large events has prompted the issuance of further traffic advisories, suggesting alternative routes to avoid the procession path and minimize disruptions. These precautions are part of a broader strategy to ensure the successful execution of both events while keeping inconvenience to the general public at a minimum and preserving traffic flow throughout the city.
Exiting the Event: Guidelines for a Smooth Departure
After the event concludes, detailed instructions will guide vehicles on exiting the parking areas effectively and returning to the city or specific locations like the Cantonment Railway Station. These exit strategies are designed to disperse the crowd efficiently, preventing bottlenecks and facilitating a smooth transition back to normal city traffic.
