Bengaluru To Experience Rains, Chills Due To Cyclone Fengal, Orange Alert Issued For Southern Karnataka
Cyclone Fengal is expected to make landfall along the northern Tamil Nadu-Puducherry coast, between Karaikal and Mahabalipuram, on Saturday afternoon.
Its effects are anticipated to extend into Karnataka, with Bengaluru and southern interior districts likely to experience rainfall over the next two days, The Indian Express reported.

According to the report, the Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre (KSNDMC) has issued an orange alert for southern interior districts, warning of moderate to heavy rainfall.
Latest updates indicate that Cyclone Fengal is moving west-northwestward over the Southwest Bay of Bengal and is forecast to strike the Tamil Nadu-Puducherry coast with wind speeds of 70-80 kmph, with gusts reaching up to 90 kmph.
Weather in Bengaluru
Bengaluru is expected to see very light rainfall over the next 24 hours. Temperatures will remain cool, averaging 20.6°C. Sunday's maximum temperature is forecast to be 24.6°C, with the minimum around 19.9°C, the report stated.
In recent days, minimum temperatures in Bengaluru's urban and rural areas have ranged between 16°C and 19°C, signalling an early onset of winter. Typically, winter in Bengaluru begins in December and lasts until early February. However, this year, the cold weather has arrived earlier than usual and is predicted to be more severe.
Cyclonic conditions are likely to bring widespread moderate rainfall with thundershowers across Karnataka's southern interior districts on Saturday. Heavy rainfall is expected on Sunday and Monday in these regions.
Coastal and Malnad districts, including Uttara Kannada, Chikmagalur, Udupi, Dakshina Kannada, Hassan, Kodagu, Shimoga, Chamarajanagar, and Belagavi, are predicted to experience heavy rainfall with thundershowers from Sunday to Tuesday. Meanwhile, moderate rainfall is expected in the northern interior districts.
