Bengaluru Power Cuts on January 11: No Electricity In THESE Areas This Weekend

BESCOM has issued an alert regarding power outages in several parts of the city on Saturday, January 11, 2025. Power supply will be disrupted from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm due to emergency maintenance work by KPTCL at the 66/11 kV IISc substation in the C6 sub-division of the Malleshwaram division.

Areas Affected by Power Cut:

The following areas will experience a power outage: Malleswaram, M.D. Block, Vyalikaval, Swimming Pool Extension, Kodandarampur, Ranganathapura, BHEL, IISc Brain Center, Ambedkar Nagar, Yeshwantpur Pipeline Road, LN Colony, Subedrapalya, Diwanara Palya, K.N. Extension, Yeshwantpur 1st Main Road, H.M.T. Main Road, Model Colony, Sharif Nagar, and surrounding areas.

Power Cut on Friday:

In addition to Saturday's outage, power supply will also be disrupted in several areas on Friday, January 10, 2025, due to emergency maintenance work by KPTCL at the 66/11 kV Well Cast Substation. The outage will occur from 10:00 am to 3:30 pm in the following areas: Ravindra Nagar, Prashanath Nagar, Santosh Nagar, Air Force Jalahalli West, Vaishnavi Nakashtra Apartments, KSRTC Bus Stand, Gati Road, Triveni, HHV, DMG, Krishna Fabrications, Gemini Industries, Ravi-Kirloskar Hospital, John Crane, Pris IL, MSIL, Wipro Velcast Factory, ITC, Volvo, Avery Dennison, Hitachi Industries, Geetha Timber, and surrounding areas.

To address the electricity shortage in rural areas and support agricultural activities, the government has planned the development of solar parks across Karnataka. The initiative has started in Shira, where solar parks have been built in Changavara and Chikkabanagere, with additional space available for expansion. Energy Minister K.J. George recently visited the site for inspection, and the Chief Minister is expected to inaugurate the project in the coming days.
