Bengaluru Power Cut On July 17: BESCOM Announces 4-Hour No Electricity in These Areas For A Week
Bengaluru Power Cut: The Bangalore Electricity Supply Company (BESCOM) has announced scheduled power outages across several areas in and around Devanahalli from July 17 to July 24, 2025. The planned shutdowns are necessary to carry out infrastructure upgrade work along key transmission lines.

Power Cut in Cooke Town on July 17
According to BESCOM's official notice, BESCOM has also announced a scheduled maintenance at the 66/11 kV Pottery Road MUSS on July 17, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
This will affect the entire Cooke Town O&M area, including:
- Richards Town
- Davis Road
- Hutchins Road
- Pottery Road
- Wheelers Road
- D'Costa Square
- Sub roads and Banaswadi Road
- C K Garden, Vivekananda Nagar, Jai Bharat Nagar
- Maruthi Seva Nagar, MEG Officers Colony
- Jeevanahalli Main Road & surrounding areas
- Nagenapalya, Sathya Nagar, Ambedkar Nagar
- Old Bayappanahalli & nearby localities
Siddesh M, Assistant Engineer (Electrical), CT O&M Unit, E5 Sub-division, urged all power users in the affected areas to make necessary arrangements and cooperate during the shutdown.
Devanahalli, Nearby 20+ Areas to Face Daily 4-Hour Outages for a week
Another notice read that the Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Limited (KPTCL) will be replacing conductors on the 66 kV Doddaballapura-Devanahalli transmission line connected to the 220 kV Doddaballapura power station. This maintenance work will affect power supply to multiple 66/11 kV substations in the region.
The power cuts will take place daily between 12:00 PM and 4:00 PM during this maintenance window.

The following areas are likely to experience scheduled power outages during the mentioned period:
Devanahalli Town
Residential layouts in Devanahalli
Gokare, Bhuvanahalli, Yartiganahalli
Chikkasanne, Avati, Bidalur, Vishwanathapura
Bommawara, Yaliyur, Chimachanahalli
Kannamangala, Sannaamanikere, Hiranandani
Koyira, Tailagere, Gobbaragunte, Koramangala and nearby villages
Additionally, areas under the Kundana substation including:
Bengaluru Rural DC office
Kundana Gram Panchayat
Koyira Gram Panchayat
Aluru-Duddanahalli region will also be impacted.
BESCOM has urged residents, farmers, and commercial users in the affected zones to cooperate during this essential infrastructure work. The utility company assured that the maintenance is aimed at ensuring more stable and uninterrupted power supply in the long term.
The assistant executive engineer of Devanahalli BESCOM operations division, Lakshmikant, confirmed the schedule and requested all power users in the affected areas to make necessary arrangements during the 4-hour window.
