Bengaluru New Year Restrictions: All Parties To End By 1 AM, Check Traffic Alert On MG Road And Brigade
New Year 2025 In Bengaluru: As the countdown to bid farewell to 2024 begins, Bengaluru's residents are gearing up to welcome the New Year 2025 with enthusiasm. However, like every year, the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has introduced guidelines to ensure safe and orderly celebrations in the city.

Bengaluru New Year Restrictions
With New Year's Eve just a few days away, preparations are in full swing across Bengaluru. The city's police department and BBMP are on high alert, finalizing and implementing guidelines to maintain public safety and order during the festivities. Following discussions with the police, the BBMP has outlined several rules for this year's celebrations:
- All Parties or Celebrations to conclude by 1 am.
- Major flyovers to be closed after 10 pm.
- Traffic restrictions on MG Road and Brigade Road after 8 pm.
- Over 800 CCTV cameras installed, including on MG Road and Brigade Road.
- Deployment of female personnel to ensure women's safety.
- Bars and pubs permitted to remain open until 1 am.
- Mandatory permissions required for events in various parts of the city.
- Ban on loudspeakers and firecracker bursting.
The BBMP has emphasized strict adherence to these rules to ensure smooth and safe celebrations. Notably, the Corporation will handle additional responsibilities this year, including lighting key areas designated by the police, managing health posts, garbage disposal, and deploying marshals.
Enhanced Security Measures
To ensure public safety, the police department has installed over 800 CCTV cameras across prominent locations, with a particular focus on MG Road and Brigade Road, where large crowds are expected. Special deployment of female personnel will enhance women's safety during the celebrations.
Bars and pubs across the city will be allowed to operate until 1 am, but organizers must secure permissions for events held in different parts of Bengaluru. The ban on loudspeakers and firecrackers will help minimize noise disturbances and maintain public order.
This year's New Year security involves multiple departments, including the fire brigade and narcotics teams, to prevent untoward incidents. BBMP's role has been expanded to cover essential services, reflecting the city administration's proactive approach to ensuring a safe and memorable New Year celebration.
As the city prepares to ring in New Year 2025, Bengaluru's residents are urged to follow these restrictions/ guidelines and cooperate with authorities for a joyous and secure start to the New Year.
