Bengaluru Metro Fare Hike: How Much Will Namma Metro Ticket Prices Increase In 2025?
Fare Fixation Committee of Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) appointed to recommend the appropriate fare revision for Bengaluru Metro
Passengers were given the opportunity to voice their opinions on the proposed fare hike until October 28. The committee has gathered feedback from the public and is set to submit its report to BMRCL in the third week of this month. The final report will then be submitted to the government in the last week of December.

Namma Metro is preparing to propose a 15% increase in metro ticket prices to the government. If approved, the fare hike could be implemented as early as January. However, passengers have expressed dissatisfaction with this potential increase.
Currently, the minimum metro fare is Rs 10, and the maximum fare is Rs 60. Due to rising operational costs, BMRCL has proposed the fare hike. Public opinions were collected from October 3 to October 28 to gauge passenger sentiment on the matter.
Despite objections from many passengers during the public consultation period, the committee has confirmed that the fare hike will proceed. As a result, a 15% increase in metro fares is likely to happen.
If the fare revision goes through, the minimum fare will rise to Rs 15, and the maximum fare could reach Rs 75. Metro travel on the Purple and Green lines is expected to become more expensive from early next month.
BMRCL Senior Public Relations Officer Yashwant Chauhan responded by stating that the rate hike committee has not yet submitted its report. Once the report is submitted, BMRCL will forward it to the government for further approval.
