Bengaluru: Over A Parking Spot Issue, Man Assaulted In Front Of Wife; 3 Booked
A man was mercilessly thrashed by a few men in front of his wife in Bengaluru. The incident occurred in the Doddanekundi area on Sunday night.
The victim named Sahishnu was beaten by Ananthmurthy and Prashanth. One woman Bhagyalaksmi is accused of attacking Sahishnu's wife Rohini.

A case has been filed under Sections 324 (pertaining to causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means) and 354 (related to assault or criminal force against a woman with intent to outrage her modesty) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
"At around 10:30 pm, when Sahishnu went to get his Hyundai i20 car parked on an empty plot spanning half an acre near his apartment and next to the suspects' house, Ananthmurthy questioned why had he parked his car there as there was an ongoing civil dispute over the land between him and building owner where the victims stayed," Deccan Herald quoted the police investigator as saying.
The incident was captured on camera and the clip has gone viral. The video footage shows numerous cars being parked in the empty place. The Belagavi couple has claimed that they are not aware of the land dispute, or else they would not have parked the vehicle.
"An FIR was filed the same night and arrest procedures were initiated against the three," a police officer said. "They have been served notice of appearance under Section 41A of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC)."
Responding to the incident, one user said on X: "Bangalore is a pathetic city to live in. It's like tribals have been forced into a modern lifestyle without training them in basic civic sense."
Another user commented: "This behavior with Kanndigas from diff district/zone and one can only wonder what kind of behavior locals pulls with people from outside the state."
The third netizen said, "The main problem being commercial buildings not providing parking space for their patrons, all & sundry parking cars blocking access in residential areas. This ends up kindling regional sentiments. Pathetic !"
A netizen said, "For the first time I've felt chills running down my spine! This is definitely not how things should be done. And the fact that these people are so fearlessly beating and harassing them shows zero fear. For the first time I felt this could happen to any of us. Shameful!"
It is reported that the building owner had a land dispute and residents, had parked their vehicles on the vacant plot. According to statements from the victims, they would have chosen alternative parking locations if they had been made aware of the land dispute.
