IPL Fixing: CSK's Gurunath arrested, BCCI chief to resign?

Mumbai, May 25: After a three-hour long gruilling at crime branch office, Mumbai police on Friday, May 24 arrested Gurunath Meiyappan who was known as the CEO of Chennai Super Kings (CSK). With son-in-law's arrest in connection with IPL spot fixing scandal, BCCI chief N Srinivasan has been cornered completely.

Pressure has been mounting on Srinivasan to resign as BCCI chief. However, Srinivasan was defiant and asserted that he would not quit as he has done nothing wrong.

After arresting Gurunath, Himangshu Roy, Mumbai's joint commissioner of police (crime), said, "We have interrogated Gurunath. Based on information from the interrogation, we find his involvement in the offence which we have registered. He would now be placed under arrest."

According to sources, small time Bollywood actor Vindoo Dara Singh, who was arrested over alleged links with bookies, claimed that he had played role of a conduit between Gurunath and Meiyappan.

Police sources told Gurunath allegedly had arranged accomodations for bookies and used to disclose team strategy secrets to bookies. The CSK chief allegedly had played an active role in the fixing scandal.
