Maha HM vows to suspend DCPs over dance bars
Mumbai, Apr 9: Maharashtra DCPs may be storming all existing dance bars to pull the shutter on them as the state Home Minister RR Patil has threatened to suspend all the DCPs, whose jurisdiction still has a functioning dance bar.
Patil's statement came in response to a supplementary by Maharashtra Navnirman Sena's (MNS) Pravin Darekar during the question hour on Friday, Apr 9.
Darekar complained against the thriving dance bars despite the ban. Besides drawing attention to the law and order problems due to the existence of such bars, he said that the local residents around the bars are facing a lot of trouble.
Patil asked Darekar to provide the details as to where the dance bars are functioning so that the necessary disciplinary actions will be taken.
"If Darekar gives me details, I will suspend the DCPs of the concerned areas by tomorrow evening," Patil said.
