India committed to Bangladesh development: Tharoor
Shillong, Apr 9: Minister of State for External Affairs Shashi Tharoor has said that India is strongly committed to the economic development of Bangladesh.
Speaking to reporters, Tharoor said, "India is strongly committed towards Bangladesh's economic development and the prosperity of their people."
Tharoor is here on a two-day visit to attend an international seminar on From Landlocked to Landbuilt: North East India in BIMSTEC at the North East Hill University.
The Minister further said, "The visit of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to India recently marked a new increase in momentum in the friendship between the two countries."
Tharoor also referred to Bangladesh's cooperation in the field of connectivity, transport, roads, security and other projects.
"The relationship between the two countries is now on new heights and the current picture was that of mutual respect," he added.
