US coffee shops charged with prostitution
Washington, Feb 6: The coffee houses serving 'sexpressos' with bikini and G-string clad waitresses has left worry lines on Washington as it has been found that coffee is not the only thing being served at these baristas.
It all began three years ago when Coffee shops in the Seattle area introduced 'bikini baristas' to thwart competition from rivals leading to dozens of similar coffee shops sprouting in various areas.
Recent police investigations have revealed that illegal activities and services were being dished out at these shops.
As many as five bikini baristas in Everett have been slapped with charges of prostitution after it was found that they were charging 80 dollars to let customers fondle the waitress and click erotic pictures with them all in full public view.
Even though this doesn't account to what is traditionally considered as prostitution, it legally comes under the same ambit as a fee is being charged for sexual acts.
Amid the raging controversy, some cities are seriously considering the possibility of shutting these coffee shops down.
