Mkts end special trading session higher
Mumbai, Feb 6: Extending its short covering rally, Nifty shot up over 45 points in late trade in the special trading session on Saturday, Feb 6.
While NSE Nifty closed at Nifty was at 4766, BSE Sensex shut shop at 15949, up 158 points.
Sensex's rally was backed by the buying in the 90-minute long session.

Nifty up, broader indices outperform benchmarks
Riding on back of short covering, Nifty was trading stronger at the 4750 mark. At 11:41 am, NSE Nifty was at 4751, up 32 points while BSE Sensex was trading at 15906, up 115 points.
Jaiprakash Associates, Hindalco, Tata Power, Sterlite Industries, DLF and Unitech were the largecap gainers. However, Cairn India, GAIL and ITC lost.
Up by over 1 percent, the broader indices were outperforming the benchmarks.
Spice Communications, Gujarat Gas, Chambal Fertiliser, Sun Pharma Advanced and Monsanto India were midcap gainers while Shriram City, Bannariamman, United Breweries, Maharashtra Seamless and 3M India dipped.
Reliance World shot up 15.61 per cent in the smallcap arena,R esurgere Mines, Sahara One, PVP Ventures and INOX Leisure were the gainers while Elpro Int, Maharashtra Polybutenes, Richa Ind, Maharashtra Ele and Elantas Beck lost.

BSE, NSE open +ve on special trading session
India's premier stock exchanges National Stock Exchange (NSE) and Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) will be open on Saturday, Feb 6 for a special 90-minute long trading session.
The special trading in the cash and futures market will trade between 11 am and 12:30 pm, the stock exchanges said on their websites, adding that the special trading session was scheduled to to enable the NSE test an upgraded trading system.
The benchmarks opened the session in the green with Sensex trading at 15885.52, up 94.59 points or 0.60 per cent and NSE Nifty at 4753.25, up 4.60 points or 0.73 per cent, at 11:08 am.
All the sectoral indices also followed the suit and opened the day in the positive zone.
Hindalco up 1.88 per cent, DLF up 1.86 per cent, Jaiprakash Asso up 1.64 per cent, Tata Steel up 1.44 per cent and Sterlite Ind up 1.15 per cent were the top gainers on Sensex.
Surging 3 to 4 per cent, Asian Star, Chambal Fert, Kalpataru Power, Honeywell Autom and IBN18 Broadcast were the Midcap gainers while Sahara One, Ramcoind, Hinduja Global, INOX Leisure and Kothari Product gained in the Smallcap arena, up 6 tp 9 per cent.
