Jyoti Basu on ventilator support
Kolkata, Jan 6: The condition of senior CPI-M leader Jyoti Basu, who was hospitalized with pneumonia has reportedly turned critical on Wednesday, Jan 6, according to media reports.
95-year-old Basu has been put on ventilator support as his condition suddenly deteriorated.
According to doctors, apart being given oxygen from time to time, Basu was responding to treatment and his infection was under control.
Earlier on Jan 1, the veteran leader was admitted at Salt Lake-based private hospital with pneumonia infection and was placed under observation.
