Rahul Gandhi not keen on becoming minister: Manmohan Singh
New Delhi, May 22 (ANI): Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh on Friday said that Congress General Secretary, who is being credited for party's good performance in Uttar Pradesh, is not keen on joining the UPA Government as Cabinet minister.
"Rahul Gandhi has so far not agreed to join government, but I have not given up hope," Dr. Singh said shortly after the swearing-in ceremony.
Dr. Singh also said that DMK is a valued colleague and will be back in the government.
Meanwhile, UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi also cleared that strengthening the party was Rahul's main responsibility.
Dr. Singh had been on having Rahul in his ministerial team, but the AICC General Secretary has been reluctant to take up a position in the cabinet and voiced preference for party work. ANI)
