No chance of another LTTE coming-up: Karuna
Colombo, May 20: Col Karuna, one of Velupillai Prabhakaran's former rebel associates said that the LTTE supremo was with 18 of his most loyal bodyguards when he was trapped and killed by the Sri Lankan military.
Vinayagamurthy Muralitharan alias Karuna, whose 2004 revolt played a vital role in the weakening of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE), also said the Tigers would never rise again. Karuna who is now serving the as Minister for integration and reconciliation in President Mahinda Rajapaksa's cabinet said that he could identify Prabhakaran's body without any doubt.
"He had thinned somewhat (from when I saw him last)," Otherwise he was much the same. The face, the eyes, it was Prabhakaran," Karuna said to media. He also confirmed that the upper portion of Prabhakaran's head was blown off.
He added that Tamil people are fed up with war and it is impossible to re-group LTTE. Karuna blamed Prabhakaran for his own death and said he was a poor strategist. He said even after years long bloodshed 'Tamils' gained nothing to revive their situation.
