Chinese man arrested for posting nude photos of ex-girlfriend online
New Delhi, May 20 (ANI): A man in Shanghai has been arrested for allegedly posting on the Internet nude pictures of his ex-lover.
"Zhu Hui (the accused) has been in detention since May 14," Zeng Qi, the attorney of the girl, whose identity is being withheld.
The accused uploaded 40 nude pictures of the woman on a website-namipan.com-in a "fit of rage" after she dumped him, reports the China Daily.
The man who went by the pseudonym "garros" uploaded the pictures on May 8.
According to Zhu, his ex-girlfriend left him because he was unable to find a suitable job.
The website administrators revealed that they tried their best to delete the images, but they were uploaded "again and again".
"We are hoping people will treat the victim with kindness and sympathy, and help her get through the harshest moment in her life," read a statement released by the victim's lawyers.
"The victim has the right to take legal action against any enterprise or individual who has copied, distributed or forwarded the pictures," the statement added.
Spreading pornographic pictures or information is a criminal offense in China punishable up to life in prison. (ANI)
