PM cancels address to rally in Assam
Guwahati, Apr. 7 (ANI): The Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh, has cancelled plans to address an election rally in Dibrugarh, Assam, due to inclement weather in the area.
The cancellation of the rally came even as death toll in Monday's serial blasts in Assam went up to ten.
A woman succumbed to shrapnel and burn injuries at the Gauhati Medical College this morning. Sahida Khatun Khatun was wounded in the Maligaon blast.
The blasts rocked Guwahati, Dhekiajuli, Mankachar and Bokajan areas.
The Centre has sought a report on the blasts from the Assam Government.
Home Ministry sources said the Centre has assured all necessary assistance to the State Government to nab the culprits behind the blasts. (ANI)
