Manipur affected by general strike
Imphal, Apr 2 (ANI): A Joint Action Committee (JAC) strike call here has paralysed the normal life in the state.
Most shops, markets and business establishments remained closed on Thursday in protest against the killing of three government officials.
Transport services between Manipur and neighbouring northeastern states were cancelled in view of strike.
The JAC called for the strike after the State Government failed to meet its deadline for conducting a probe into the murder of Dr. Kishan and two of his staff members.
Dr. Kishan, who was posted at Kasom Khullen in Ukhrul District, was abducted along with five staff members by unidentified persons on February 13.
Thereafter, he and two others were found murdered in Senapati District on February 17. The other three were rescued from Ukhrul. (ANI)
