HDK to lay foundation for Vidhana Souda

Belgaum, Aug 25: Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy will lay the foundation stone for the Suvarna Vidhana Soudha (State Secretariat) here tomorrow, district in charge Minister Shashikant Naik said today. Talking to newspersons here, he said the new building, to be constructed at a cost of Rs 230 crore, would come up on 50 acre of land. The state government had sanctioned Rs 70 crore initially for the purpose.

He said the winter session of the Legislature would be held at the Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College.

It may be recalled here that the government had decided to hold a session of the Karnataka Legislature in this backward district annually.
