Punjab: Jeweller held with fake currency

Jalandhar, May 16: A city-based jeweller, who was allegedly running a counterfeit currency racket, was arrested along with his accomplice, police today said.

Police said that last night in a raid at Birla Jeweller, counterfeit currency notes, worth more than Rs one lakh, were seized.

The owner of the shop identified as Ashok Kumar was arrested along with his accomplice Amit Kumar.

The raid was conducted on prior information and further investigations were on, police added.
