Girls outshine boys in class XII Science and Commerce exams
Shillong, May 16 (UNI) Girls outshined boys both in the Science and Commerce streams of the Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate Examination of the Meghalaya Board of Secondary Education, results of which were declared here today.
In all, 2676 students appeared in the Class XII Science examinations out of which 1143 were females. Overall 63.86 per cent students passed the examinations. The success rate of girls was 65.09 per cent, while that of boys was 62.94 per cent.
The total number of students appearing for the Commerce examinations was 1452 out of which 1225 students cleared the exams.
About 90.3 per cent girls passed the exams, while 82.16 per cent boys achieved pass marks.
Shillong's premier St Anthony's College achieved the maximum number of students in the top ten position in both the streams, followed by St Edmund's College.
