Bumrah delivered a key spell in the title match as New Zealand fell well short. Bumrah finished with 4/15 in four overs. India dismissed New Zealand for 159 in reply to 255 for five. The result came in front of 86,000 fans, and a chase never looked possible.

"Bumrah is a once-in a generation bowler. I can call him a national treasure. He knows how it needs to be done, he is the best in the business,\" Suryakumar said at the post-match presentation ceremony. The captain described Bumrah’s impact as decisive in the final. Bumrah’s figures stood out in a high-scoring match.

Suryakumar also spoke about the path to the title since the previous season. \"I think itll take a little bit of time but definitely very happy. Been a long journey. Started post the 2024 World Cup. Jay Shah, Rohit bhai, they all showed faith in me and gave me opportunity to lead. From there its been a long journey and coming here and winning it,\" Surya said.

India’s batters set up the win with a strong total of 255 for five. Sanju Samson struck 89 off 46 balls. Abhishek Sharma hit 52 off 21 balls. The pair added 92 in the Powerplay and 98 for the opening stand. Ishan Kishan then kept the pressure on with an attacking half-century.

The captain said the team stayed with the methods built over the last two years. Suryakumar said the focus was on repeating the good habits from the 2024 World Cup. Suryakumar also backed the players to deliver in big games. Suryakumar said the squad had match-winners ready for key moments.

Explaining the selections, Suryakumar highlighted trust and timing. Suryakumar said it mattered to know each player’s ability. Suryakumar pointed to Samson and Sharma as top players. Suryakumar said India expected something special in the final. India then completed the win as New Zealand were bowled out for 159.
