Faridabad Crime: Man Stabbed To Death After Confronting Youths Over Alleged Sexual Harassment, Probe Underway

A man was stabbed to death in Faridabad's Palla area on Monday evening after he confronted a group of youths who allegedly harassed a young woman, police said. The incident has sparked anger among local residents, who are demanding strict action against the accused and stronger safety measures in the area.

The police have launched a search operation and identified two suspects in connection with the murder.

Man attacked after confronting youths

The deceased has been identified as Jai Singh, a resident of Girdawar Enclave in Faridabad. According to police, the incident took place between 7:30 pm and 8 pm near an open ground in the Palla area.

Jai Singh was reportedly standing with his friends Saurabh Singh (29) and Sonu Kumar (31) when a group of youths allegedly made objectionable remarks towards Sonu Kumar's 25-year-old sister, who was returning from the market. The incident led to a heated exchange between the two sides.

Locals gathered at the spot, following which the group of youths left the area. However, the matter escalated shortly after.

Accused return with knives, stab victim

Police said that about 30 minutes later, the same group allegedly returned in a car, this time armed with knives. When they reached the spot, they reportedly found Jai Singh alone and attacked him.

He was stabbed multiple times in the neck, chest, back and abdomen, police said. Passersby rushed him to Badshah Khan Civil Hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.

An FIR has been registered at the Palla police station under sections related to murder and common intention of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Two suspects - Sonu Khan and Tushar - have been identified by police as anti-social elements. Raids are currently underway to arrest them and any others involved in the attack.

Residents demand strict action

The brutal killing has created panic and anger among residents of Girdawar Enclave and nearby areas. Locals have demanded swift arrests and stronger measures to ensure safety for women and girls in the locality.

Police officials said the investigation is ongoing and more details will be shared as the probe progresses. Authorities have assured that all those involved in the crime will be identified and brought to justice.
