Kolkata Metro: 366 Trains To Operate Daily – Check New Routes, Timings And Details

Kolkata Metro is set to enhance its services with a total of 366 trains running daily across its new and existing corridors. The expansion comes after the inauguration of three new metro lines in the city by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, marking a significant boost to urban connectivity. For residents of Kolkata, this upgrade promises smoother travel and easier pandal-hopping during the festive season, with seamless links between South and North Kolkata.

Orange Line (Beleghata - Kavi Subhash)

On the Orange Line, 60 services will be available from Monday to Friday, with 30 trains in each direction. The first service will leave from both Beleghata and Kavi Subhash at 8:00 am, while the last train is scheduled to depart from both ends at 8:05 pm. Services on this line will remain suspended on Saturdays and Sundays.

Green Line (Salt Lake Sector V - Howrah Maidan)

The Green Line will offer the highest frequency, with 186 trains daily from Monday to Saturday. This includes 93 trains running in each direction. The first departure from Salt Lake Sector V is scheduled for 6:32 am, while trains from Howrah Maidan will begin at 6:30 am. The final services of the day will leave at 9:45 pm from Howrah Maidan and 9:47 pm from Salt Lake Sector V.

Yellow Line (Jai Hind Bimanbandar - Noapara)

The Yellow Line will provide 120 daily services between Monday and Friday, split equally with 60 trains each way. Trains will run at 15-minute intervals, starting at 7:58 am from both Jai Hind Bimanbandar and Noapara. The last services of the day are scheduled for 8:00 pm from both terminals. Like the Orange Line, Yellow Line services will not operate on Saturdays and Sundays.

With the addition of these new routes, Kolkata Metro commuters will have access to 366 services daily, ensuring faster, more convenient travel across the City of Joy.
