Officials said Martin entered the premises around 1:30 am local time as another vehicle was exiting. He was confronted by Secret Service agents and a Palm Beach County sheriff's deputy.

Confrontation Near North Gate

According to Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw, officers ordered Martin to drop the shotgun and petrol canister he was carrying. While he initially put down the fuel container, authorities said he raised the shotgun into what appeared to be a firing position.
