Trump Slams Ukraine For ‘Zero Gratitude,’ Criticises Europe Over Russian Oil Purchases

US President Donald Trump has once more voiced his discontent over Ukraine's perceived lack of appreciation for American aid in its conflict with Russia. This sentiment was expressed on social media, where Trump also lamented the ongoing war's severe humanitarian toll and criticised Europe for its continued oil purchases from Russia. "I INHERITED A WAR THAT SHOULD HAVE NEVER HAPPENED, A WAR THAT IS A LOSER FOR EVERYONE, ESPECIALLY THE MILLIONS OF PEOPLE THAT HAVE SO NEEDLESSLY DIED," Trump declared on Truth Social. He further stated, "UKRAINE 'LEADERSHIP' HAS EXPRESSED ZERO GRATITUDE FOR OUR EFFORTS, AND EUROPE CONTINUES TO BUY OIL FROM RUSSIA." These comments highlight his frustration with the ongoing situation.

During a session of the United Nations General Assembly on September 23, 2025, Trump met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in New York. Their discussions are part of ongoing diplomatic efforts to resolve the conflict. Meanwhile, Trump has set a deadline of November 27 for Ukraine to approve a contentious peace plan, although Kyiv reportedly seeks amendments to the draft.
