Where Purpose Meets Progress: SABERA™ 2025 Celebrates India’s Changemakers
The eighth edition of सबेरा SABERATM 2025 unfolded at the India Habitat Centre, bringing together an inspiring spectrum of leaders, innovators, and organisations committed to shaping India's development through purpose-driven action. Curated by the Simply Suparnaa © Media Network, a UN Women awardee, SABERATM continued its mission of championing GOOD by honouring work that creates measurable societal impact beyond profit.
The ceremony opened with anchor Naina Kumari, The daughter of a sweeper at a multiplex, whose presence embodied SABERATM's commitment to expanding opportunity and amplifying voices from underserved backgrounds. Founder & Curator Suparnaa Chadda reaffirmed the platform's dedication to responsible storytelling and narrative-building rooted in collective wellbeing.

"At SABERATM, our endeavour is to ensure that those quietly changing lives-from remote villages to boardrooms-are seen, heard, and celebrated as the true architects of India's future," said Founder & Curator Suparnaa Chadda.
A compelling keynote conversation between Suparnaa and noted author Gurcharan Das explored themes of ethics, meaning, and the pursuit of a "good life," offering a reflective backdrop to the recognitions of the evening.
"Doing something that gives your life purpose and meaning leads to a deeper happiness, understood as a flourishing, fulfilled life. A good life, in this sense, draws on the classical goals of life - artha, dharma, kama and moksha - which are human capabilities, and to realise them is to live fully and flourish," said Gurcharan Das.

The event also acknowledged the SABERATM Pre-Screening Council, Radhika Patel, Rushva Parihar, Vikas Bhatia, Rashmi Soni, , and Abhi Mahapatra, whose rigorous evaluation shaped the 2025 shortlist. Several members of the Grand Jury, including Urvashi Prasad, Rajeev Chaba, and Geeta Goel, were present, reinforcing the credibility and depth of the assessment process.
A graceful fusion performance by renowned journalist Bhadra Sinha and corporate leader Gayathri Sharma added cultural resonance, depicting the Nav Ras or 9 emotions of Ma Durga.
Celebrating India's Changemakers
The SABERATM 2025 Awards spotlighted a powerful spectrum of on-ground impact across Sustainable Development Goals, organisational sizes and sectors, from grassroots social enterprises and social leaders to large corporates and public sector foundations. Recognised changemakers included Bharathi Srinivasan of AMBA, an intellectually disabled leader who has transformed her lived experience into long-term service for adults with intellectual disabilities, alongside jury-recommended social leaders Pranshu Singhal of Karo Sambhav, rebuilding India's waste ecosystem for a circular, low-carbon future, and Ayushi Jaiswal of Project FUEL, championing arts and culture as pathways to identity and community wellbeing.
Reflecting the jury's focus on unsung heroes, lean, community-rooted initiatives such as Planet Spiti in the trans-Himalayan region, IVillage in rural Uttar Pradesh and Jyoti Bahuudeshiya Sevabhavi Sanstha in rural Maharashtra-each with annual turnovers under 40 lakhs-were celebrated for deep, place-based impact.
Institutional winners including United Way Bengaluru, The Hans Foundation, the Bansidhar & Ila Panda Foundation, Hindustan Unilever, ETASHA Society, Craftizen Foundation, ROADIS and Sushena Health Foundation advanced water security, climate resilience, inclusive education, equitable livelihoods and healthcare in underserved communities.
Rural development, gender inclusion and innovation were further highlighted through Roshni Foundation, SBI Foundation's Sammaan, Sashakti and Gram Seva initiatives, IVillage's programmes for rural women, Jalchakra Innovations' Cownomics®, Prism Johnson, Human Ventures and Haqdarshak.

Lifetime Achievement honour for Ashis Mondal of Action for Social Advancement recognised decades of work enabling smallholder and tribal farmers to build resilient, dignified livelihoods. Hero Motocorp was also bestowed with the prestigious Responsible Business Trophy for its sector-leading commitment to ESG best practices
