Video: Bride Shot On Stage During Jaimal Ceremony In Bihar’s Buxar, Critical In Hospital

A joyous wedding celebration in Bihar's Buxar district descended into horror when a bride was shot on stage during her garland exchange ceremony. The shocking incident took place in Chausa under the Mufassil police station limits on Wednesday.

Just moments after the bride and groom exchanged garlands, a man allegedly stormed the stage and opened fire, leaving the bride critically injured. Panic swept through the venue as guests scrambled for safety and the ceremony came to an abrupt halt.

Gunshot Shatters Jaimal Ceremony

The wedding procession had arrived from Ballia and celebrations were underway with music and dancing. The bride and groom appeared cheerful as they stood on stage for the traditional jaimal ritual. Suddenly, a young man rushed forward, pulled out a pistol and fired at the bride without warning.

The bullet pierced her abdomen and she collapsed instantly. Before anyone could react, the accused fled the scene. Guests ran in different directions while family members rushed to lift the injured bride and arrange transport to hospital.

Bride in Critical Condition

The bride was immediately taken to a private hospital in Buxar. Doctors attending to her said she had suffered heavy blood loss due to the gunshot wound and her condition remains extremely critical.

The festive atmosphere at the wedding venue turned into one of grief and disbelief. Family members and guests gathered outside the hospital, praying for her recovery as shock and sorrow replaced what had been a celebratory evening.

Police Suspect One-Sided Love Angle

Preliminary investigation suggests the shooting may be linked to a one-sided love affair. Police suspect that the attacker was known to the bride and was unhappy about her marriage. Buxar Superintendent of Police Shubham Arya is personally overseeing the investigation.

Statements from eyewitnesses have been recorded and officials say the identity of the suspect has nearly been confirmed. Local discussions indicate that the accused may have carried out the attack out of resentment.

Special Teams Formed to Arrest Accused

Considering the gravity of the incident, police have formed a special team to track down the accused. Raids are being conducted at multiple locations and border areas are under surveillance to prevent his escape.

The SP has assured that the accused will be arrested soon. The incident has created fear across the area, with many residents now questioning security arrangements at wedding functions.
