PM Modi In Gujarat Today: To Launch Rs 20,000 Crore Projects, Inaugurate Key Facilities On Mahavir Jayanti

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit his home state Gujarat on March 31 for a packed schedule of major events. His visit will focus on culture, technology, infrastructure, and development.

On the special occasion of Mahavir Jayanti, he will inaugurate a museum, launch a semiconductor plant, and begin several big projects worth over ₹20,000 crore.

A Day Filled With Key Events

The Prime Minister shared details of his visit through a post on X (formerly Twitter). He said he will attend programmes in Gandhinagar, Sanand, and Vav-Tharad.

These events will cover important sectors such as culture, semiconductors, infrastructure, healthcare, and rural development. The visit highlights the government's focus on both heritage and modern growth.

Samrat Samprati Museum Inauguration

One of the major highlights of the visit is the inauguration of the Samrat Samprati Museum at Koba Tirth in Gandhinagar.

The museum is named after Samrat Samprati, the grandson of Emperor Ashoka and an important figure in Jain history. He is remembered for spreading the message of non-violence and promoting Jainism.

Located inside the Mahavir Jain Aradhana Kendra campus, the museum showcases the rich cultural and spiritual history of Jainism. It has seven different sections, each focusing on different aspects of India's heritage.

Visitors can see rare and valuable collections such as ancient manuscripts, Jain artefacts, stone and metal idols, miniature paintings, coins, and beautifully crafted silver chariots. The museum aims to preserve and present India's ancient traditions for future generations.

Launch of Kaynes Semiconductor Plant

PM Modi will also inaugurate the Kaynes Semicon Plant at Sanand in Ahmedabad. This marks an important step in India's push to become a global hub for semiconductor manufacturing.

The plant will start commercial production of Intelligent Power Modules (IPMs). These are important components used in automobiles and industrial machines, helping improve efficiency and performance.

This facility becomes one of the first semiconductor plants in India to begin production under the government's semiconductor programme, following earlier initiatives in the sector.

Infrastructure Projects Worth ₹20,000 Crore

After these events, the Prime Minister will travel to Vav-Tharad, where he will launch and lay the foundation for multiple development projects worth more than ₹20,000 crore.
A key project among these is the Ahmedabad-Dholera Expressway, an advanced highway built at a cost of over ₹5,100 crore. This road is expected to improve connectivity and boost economic growth in the region.

He will also lay the foundation for the Idar-Badoli bypass, which will be a four-lane road, and for the upgrade of the Dholavira-Mauvana-Vauva-Santalpur highway section.
These projects aim to strengthen road networks and make travel faster and safer.

Boost to Rail Connectivity

In the railway sector, several important projects will be dedicated to the nation. These include the doubling of the Kanalus-Jamnagar railway line and the expansion of the Gandhidham-Adipur section.

These upgrades will help improve train services, reduce travel time, and support both passenger and freight movement in the region.

Focus on Development and Heritage

PM Modi's Gujarat visit reflects a balanced approach between preserving cultural heritage and promoting modern development. From celebrating Jain history through the museum to strengthening India's semiconductor industry and infrastructure, the visit covers a wide range of important areas.
