"This nine-seater private aircraft met with an accident near Jalda, about 10 kilometers from Rourkela. The passengers suffered minor injuries but are all stable. By God's grace, it was not a serious accident," Minister Jena stated.
Airport officials mentioned that the flight was part of a regular service between Rourkela and Bhubaneswar. A technical or mechanical failure is suspected to have caused the accident, though the exact reason is yet to be determined. Authorities have ordered a detailed investigation to find out what led to the crash.
Deputy Fire Officer Umakanta Naik shared that the aircraft had lost contact with the Air Traffic Control (ATC) before it was found to have made an emergency landing. He praised the pilot's efforts in landing the aircraft safely and avoiding a larger disaster.
All the injured were moved to Rourkela Hospital for treatment. The quick thinking of the pilots and the immediate response from rescue teams ensured that everyone survived the crash safely.
