NIA Arrests Seventh Suspect in Delhi Red Fort Car Blast Case
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested a Faridabad resident for allegedly sheltering bomber Umar Un Nabi shortly before the November 10 car blast near Red Fort that killed 15 people and injured over two dozen, ANI reported.
The accused, identified as Soyab from Dhauj in Haryana's Faridabad, is the seventh person taken into custody in connection with the attack. According to the NIA, Soyab not only harboured Umar but also provided logistical support to aid his movements ahead of the strike.

The arrest follows the earlier detention of six key aides, including Dr Muzammil Shakeel Ganai, Dr Adeel Ahmed Rather, Dr Shaheen Saeed, and Mufti Irfan Ahmad Wagay, along with Amir Rashid Ali and Jasir Bilal Wani alias Danish. Investigators say these individuals played critical roles in procuring the vehicle, offering technical assistance, and coordinating the terror plot.
Officials said the latest arrest has further strengthened the agency's understanding of the operational network behind the bombing. The NIA continues to pursue multiple leads across states in collaboration with Delhi Police, Jammu and Kashmir Police, Haryana Police, Uttar Pradesh Police, and other agencies to dismantle the module.
The blast occurred around 7 pm on November 10 when a Hyundai i20, rigged with an Improvised Explosive Device (IED), exploded near Red Fort. The driver, identified through forensic evidence as Umar Un Nabi, a Pulwama resident and assistant professor at Al Falah University in Faridabad, was killed in the explosion.
The NIA, which took over the probe the next day, has so far questioned 73 witnesses and seized another vehicle belonging to Nabi for examination. Investigators say efforts remain underway to expose the full conspiracy and bring all perpetrators to justice.
