Namo Bharat, Delhi Metro, Meerut Metro on Holi: What Will Be The Schedule On 4 March? Check Timings

Holi will be celebrated across the country with great enthusiasm on 4 March, and in view of the festival, major changes have been announced in public transport services across Delhi and the National Capital Region.

To ensure smooth operations and maintain security, authorities have issued revised schedules for metro trains, regional rail services and buses. Passengers have been advised to check the updated timings before leaving home to avoid inconvenience.

Metro Services To Remain Suspended Till Afternoon

Keeping in mind security arrangements, operational requirements and lower passenger footfall during festival hours, the Delhi Metro will not operate on any line until 2:30 pm on Holi. According to DMRC Principal Executive Director (Corporate Communications) Anuj Dayal, services on all metro corridors, including the Airport Express Line, will remain completely suspended until the afternoon.

He informed that on 4 March, metro services will begin simultaneously from all terminal stations at 2:30 pm and will thereafter run as per the normal schedule for the rest of the day. As in previous years, this special arrangement has been implemented considering safety concerns and operational feasibility during the festival.

DMRC has also urged commuters to strictly follow security guidelines inside metro premises. Passengers have been advised not to carry inflammable materials or open containers filled with colours to prevent any untoward incidents.

Revised Timings For Namo Bharat And Meerut Metro

Changes have also been made to services on the Delhi-Meerut corridor. According to NCRTC, Namo Bharat and Meerut Metro services will not be available until 5:00 pm on Holi. On 4 March, operations will begin at 5:00 pm and continue until 10:00 pm.

Officials stated that passenger numbers are significantly lower during the morning hours of the festival, while movement increases later in the day. The revised schedule has been designed accordingly.

NCRTC has also announced that the regular operating hours for Namo Bharat and Meerut Metro services have now been standardised from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm daily, including Sundays. Passengers have once again been advised to verify service timings before planning their journey.

Limited Bus Services On Festival Day

Buses are considered the second lifeline of the capital after the metro. According to information issued by DTC, bus services will remain completely suspended until 2:00 pm on 4 March. After 2:00 pm, only 25 percent of buses will operate on city roads.

This means that public transport availability will remain extremely limited during the morning hours on Holi. Transport authorities have clarified that the decision has been taken to ensure operational practicality, strengthen security arrangements and manage resources effectively during the festival.

With altered schedules across metro, regional rail and bus networks, commuters are strongly encouraged to plan their travel in advance and check official advisories before stepping out on Holi.
