Nagpur Murder Case: 22-Year-Old Ritik Patel Killed After Dispute in Kalamna

A 22-year-old man died after a violent assault in Nagpur’s Kalamna area, with police arresting six accused, including one minor. Officers said the incident started with a late-night dispute on Saturday and turned into a deadly group attack involving sticks, iron rods and knives.

The victim, identified as Ritik Patel, was outside his house on Saturday night, speaking with friend Tanshu Nagpure. A local resident, Mustafa alias Golu, who knew both, allegedly approached and asked them to drink alcohol. Police said the pair refused, which apparently angered Golu.

Investigators said Golu allegedly forced Ritik and Tanshu to sit on a motorcycle and took them towards Kanji House Chowk in Mangalwari. During the ride, an argument reportedly began over personal issues, including girlfriends and financial matters. The quarrel grew tense, and Golu eventually dropped both men midway before leaving the spot.

Police said that soon afterwards, one of Golu’s brothers allegedly phoned Tanshu and issued threats. When Ritik returned home, Ritik told neighbour Salim about the confrontation. Salim then offered to talk to the other side and settle the matter, according to the police version of events.

Officers stated that Golu, the brothers and some associates allegedly misjudged this attempt as a challenge. The group is accused of reaching the area armed with sticks, iron rods and knives before launching a targeted attack. Ritik’s family members tried to intervene during the clash and were also hit.

Nagpur murder case: attack details and injuries

According to police, Ritik was struck several times on the back of the head with weapons during the assault. Ritik collapsed on the spot and died from head injuries. Four others, including members of Ritik’s family, sustained injuries in the violence and received medical treatment.

Police registered an offence of murder and started an investigation into the Nagpur killing. All six accused, including the minor, were arrested. Officers are now verifying the exact sequence of events, checking the role of each person, and working to recover the weapons used during the Kalamna attack.
