IMD Issues Rain Warning For Delhi, Heatwave Alert In Jodhpur And Bikaner, Strong Winds In Andhra Pradesh

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued multiple weather alerts across different parts of the country, warning of rain and thunderstorms in Delhi, heatwave conditions in Rajasthan, and gusty winds with thunderstorms in Andhra Pradesh over the next few days.

The changing weather pattern is expected to bring relief in some regions while intensifying heat in others, particularly across western India.

Delhi Under Yellow Alert For Rain And Thunderstorms

The IMD has issued a yellow alert for the national capital, forecasting rain accompanied by thunderstorms. According to the weather department, Delhi recorded relatively milder temperatures on the previous day, with the Safdarjung weather station registering a maximum temperature of 37.5 degrees Celsius, which was two notches below normal.

The department indicated that changing wind patterns and moisture intrusion could lead to cloudy skies and short spells of rain in parts of the city. Thunderstorm activity is also expected to bring temporary relief from the prevailing warm conditions.

Thunderstorms And Strong Winds Likely In Andhra Pradesh

Several parts of Andhra Pradesh are expected to witness unstable weather conditions over the coming days. The meteorological centre in Amaravati has forecast thunderstorms, lightning activity, and gusty winds across isolated regions.

According to the forecast, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam could experience winds reaching speeds of up to 50 kmph. Meanwhile, Rayalaseema is likely to witness gusty winds of around 40 kmph along with thunderstorm activity.

Officials have advised residents in vulnerable areas to remain cautious during lightning and strong wind conditions.

Heatwave Conditions Continue In Rajasthan

Rajasthan is likely to remain under intense heatwave conditions through the week, with the IMD warning of a further rise in both minimum and maximum temperatures across several districts.

The weather department has specifically sounded an alert for parts of Jodhpur and Bikaner divisions, where heatwave and warm night conditions are expected to persist. The continued dry weather is likely to push daytime temperatures higher in many western districts of the state.

Some Relief Expected In Parts Of Rajasthan

Even as severe heat continues in many areas, some regions in Rajasthan could witness temporary relief due to changing weather activity.

The IMD has forecast cloudy skies, light drizzle, and dust storms in parts of the Bikaner division, the Shekhawati region, and northern areas of Jaipur and Bharatpur divisions. Wind speeds in these areas may reach 40-50 kmph during dust storm activity.

Weather officials said the changing conditions may help reduce temperatures slightly in isolated pockets, though overall heatwave conditions are expected to dominate across the state through the week.
