Dattatreya Hosabale Declares Hindutva as the Soul of Bharat and Advocates for Anti-Conversion Laws

Dattatreya Hosabale, RSS general secretary, describes Hindutva as the essence of Bharat. He calls for public awareness and strict enforcement of anti-conversion laws to preserve Hindu culture and social harmony.

During a recent event in Indore, RSS general secretary Dattatreya Hosabale highlighted Hindutva as the essence of Bharat. He suggested that religious conversions could be controlled through public awareness, social unity, and strict law enforcement. The gathering was part of the RSS's centenary outreach, attended by representatives from various societal segments.

Hosabale explained that Hindutva represents the soul of India, stating, "Hindutva is the soul of India." He elaborated that Hindu culture, despite its diverse expressions, shares a unified core. According to him, the society that embraces this diversity is inherently Hindu, making the nation a Hindu one.

Religious Conversions and Social Harmony

Addressing concerns about religious conversions, Hosabale proposed several measures. He mentioned "Dharm jagaran, service works, social harmony, visits by saints, and strict enforcement of laws can check religious conversions." These efforts aim to maintain cultural integrity and prevent conversions with malicious intent.

Hosabale also clarified the broader meaning of dharma in Indian culture. He compared it to traffic rules where "The vehicle is religion and adhering to traffic rules is dharma." While religions can change, dharma remains constant. He stressed caution against conversions driven by improper motives.

Secularism and Identity

The senior RSS leader addressed issues related to secularism. He noted that some individuals hesitate to identify as Hindu due to rigid secularism views. This reluctance stems from misunderstandings about secularism's role in cultural identity.

Hosabale emphasised the importance of educating the younger generation about Hindutva's core principles. He believes that conveying these ideas is crucial for preserving cultural heritage and ensuring continuity across generations.

Historical Struggles and Service Activities

Reflecting on historical events, Hosabale recalled the challenges faced by RSS volunteers during the 1975 Emergency and the Ram Janmabhoomi movement in Ayodhya. These experiences have shaped the organisation's commitment to service activities over the past century.

The RSS has undertaken over one lakh service initiatives with societal support. These efforts demonstrate their dedication to community welfare and cultural preservation through active engagement and outreach.

Hosabale's remarks underscore the significance of Hindutva as a unifying force in India. By promoting awareness and understanding, he aims to foster social harmony while preserving cultural identity amidst modern challenges.
