Delhi Shooting: CISF Constable Fatally Shoots 17-Year-Old

The incident took place near the community centre at DDA market in Mansarovar Park on a Saturday evening. According to police reports, the teenager, a resident of New Modern Shahdara, was shot during an argument with the CISF constable. He was immediately taken to Hedgewar Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Investigation and Arrest

The CISF constable, stationed in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, has been arrested. Authorities have seized the pistol believed to be used in the shooting. Police are probing whether the weapon was a service or personal firearm. The ongoing investigation aims to clarify the event's sequence and the gun's legality.

Initial investigations suggest the shooting was not premeditated. The police said, "We got to know that the victim came to eat food after he witnessed a function was going on. He jumped a wall and was initially stopped by some locals. The CISF head constable was also there, and in a fit of rage, he pulled out a gun and shot him dead."

Reports indicate the teenager gatecrashed the wedding, leading to a confrontation. It was during this altercation that the CISF constable fired at the minor. The accused is currently undergoing interrogation to determine the events leading to the shooting. Additionally, investigators are conducting a forensic examination of the weapon.

The Deputy Commissioner of Police, Shahdara, Prashant Gautam, confirmed the teenager's death due to the gunshot wound. The authorities are also in the process of checking firearm licences.
