Delhi-NCR, UP Weather Update: Rainfall Likely Across Regions On January 30, IMD Advisory Issued

Delhi-NCR, UP Weather Update Today: Weather conditions across parts of North India remain unsettled, with Delhi and Uttar Pradesh witnessing a return of winter chill due to rainfall, strong winds and an active western disturbance.

The India Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for both regions till February 1, warning of rain, thunderstorms and reduced visibility in some areas. Residents have been advised to remain cautious, especially during early morning and late evening hours.

Delhi-NCR weather update: rain, cold winds and air quality relief

Delhi is likely to experience rainfall accompanied by cold and gusty winds. The IMD has warned that icy winds may continue to affect the capital, adding to the chill factor. Rainfall has brought temporary relief from pollution, leading to an improvement in air quality levels at several monitoring stations.

Temperature forecast for Delhi:

• Maximum temperature: 19 to 21 degrees Celsius
• Minimum temperature: 12 to 13 degrees Celsius

Despite the improvement, air quality remains in the poor to very poor category in several parts of the city, according to early morning readings.

Uttar Pradesh weather: rain and thunderstorms expected

Weather conditions are expected to remain unstable across Uttar Pradesh, with rainfall and thunderstorms likely in many districts. Light to moderate rain may occur in cities such as Agra, Varanasi, Prayagraj, Gorakhpur, Kanpur, Meerut, Bareilly, Aligarh and Ayodhya. Meanwhile, districts including Lucknow, Hardoi, Lakhimpur Kheri, Rae Bareli, Sitapur, Unnao and Pratapgarh may witness thunderstorms accompanied by strong winds, for which alerts have been issued.

IMD advisory for residents

The weather department has advised people in both Delhi and Uttar Pradesh to stay alert, avoid unnecessary travel during adverse conditions and take precautions against cold-related health issues. According to the IMD, a gradual change in weather is expected after February 3 or 4, which may bring some relief from the current cold spell.
