BJP Second List 2026 West Bengal: Full List of 111 Candidates Announced

The Bharatiya Janata Party on Thursday sharpened its campaign for the West Bengal assembly elections by releasing its second list of candidates, naming 111 nominees across key constituencies.

The fresh list reflects the party's attempt to strike a balance between experienced leaders and familiar faces. Among the أبرز names is Nisith Pramanik, a former Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, who has been fielded from Mathabhanga. Pramanik had represented Cooch Behar in the Lok Sabha until 2024 but lost in the last general elections.

The BJP has also brought in prominent figures from outside traditional politics, with actor-turned-politician Roopa Ganguly named as the candidate from Sonarpur Dakshin. Rekha Patra, who had previously contested the Basirhat Lok Sabha seat in 2024, will now fight from Hingalganj.

The second list further includes a series of organisational and regional leaders, such as Kaushik Roy from Maynaguri, Noman Rai from Darjeeling, Ashim Kumar Biswas from Ranaghat Dakshin, Subrata Thakur from Gaighata and Arjun Singh from Noapara.

In a notable political move, the party has fielded Dibyendu Adhikari from Egra, bringing the spotlight once again on the influential Adhikari family. His brother, Suvendu Adhikari, is already in the fray from two high-profile seats - Bhabanipur and Nandigram.

The list also features key contenders like Papiya Dey Adhikari from Tollygunge, Priyanka Tibrewal from Entally, Tapas Roy from Maniktala and Sudip Kumar Mukherjee from Purulia.

With this second list, the BJP has significantly expanded its electoral lineup in West Bengal, signalling a more aggressive push as the party gears up for a high-stakes contest in the state.
