Ayodhya Dhwajarohan 2025: Everything To Know About The Historic Saffron Flag
Ayodhya is celebrating Vivah Panchami in all its splendour, marking the divine wedding of Lord Ram and Mata Sita. Alongside the festivities, preparations are underway for the historic Dhwajarohan (flag-hoisting) ceremony at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has arrived at Maharishi Valmiki Airport and is moving through the city in a roadshow. He will offer prayers at the Sapt Mandir, Sheshavatar Mandir, Mata Annapurna Mandir, and Ram Darbar Garbhagrih before remotely hoisting the ceremonial saffron flag atop the temple.

Significance and Features of the Saffron Flag
As per the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), the saffron flag is a right-angled triangular banner measuring 10 feet in height and 20 feet in length.
Key elements on the flag include:
A radiant Sun, representing Lord Ram's brilliance and valour
The sacred Kovidara tree
The divine 'Om' symbol
Crafted from parachute fabric using silk threads, the flag embodies dignity, unity, cultural continuity, and the principles of Ram Rajya. It will be installed on a 42-foot-high pole atop the temple's 161-foot Shikhar. Inspired by descriptions in the Valmiki Ramayana, the triangular design signifies Lord Ram's divinity, strength, and eternal spirit.
PM Modi's Dhwajarohan Schedule
PM Modi is scheduled to land at 10 AM at Maharishi Valmiki International Airport. From there, he will take a helicopter to Saket Mahavidyalaya, followed by a roadshow to the Shankaracharya entrance of the Ram Mandir.
Along the 2.5-kilometre route, nearly 1,000 students from Saket Mahavidyalaya and Avadh University will shower flowers on him. Upon reaching the temple, the Prime Minister will offer prayers at the Sapt Mandir, then visit the Sheshavatar Mandir and Mata Annapurna Mandir around 11 AM. He will then perform darshan and pooja at the Ram Darbar Garbhagrih, before remotely hoisting the saffron flag atop the temple Shikhar.
Tight Security Arrangements in Ayodhya
Security has been significantly strengthened ahead of the Prime Minister's visit. Along the route, seven stages have been set up for cultural programmes, and the entire stretch has been decorated with marigold flowers. PM Modi will move under five layers of security, including police, magistrates, ATS, STF, SWAT commandos, and paramilitary forces deployed within a 15-kilometre radius.
Around 7,000 security personnel have been deployed to ensure smooth and secure conduct of this historic ceremony.
