In a post shared in Hindi, he noted that intelligence, rational thinking and sound decision-making help ensure that scientific and technological advancements reach and serve the masses. He said the objective of the summit is to explore ways in which artificial intelligence can be applied for public good.

The Prime Minister also shared a Sanskrit verse emphasising that qualities such as the willingness to listen, careful attention, understanding, reasoning, decision-making and knowledge form the foundation of true intelligence.

During the first day of the summit, Modi reiterated India's commitment to building responsible and inclusive AI while inaugurating the expo. He interacted with startups, researchers and technology leaders who presented AI-driven solutions across sectors. He is scheduled to deliver the inaugural address on February 19, where he is expected to outline India's vision for trusted, inclusive and development-focused artificial intelligence and call for stronger global cooperation.

The summit features participation from 13 countries showcasing collaborative efforts in AI, including delegations from Australia, Japan, Russia, the UK, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Serbia, Estonia, Tajikistan and several African nations.

More than 300 exhibition spaces and live demonstrations have been set up under three themes - People, Planet and Progress - highlighting AI's potential across diverse sectors. Over 600 promising startups are also taking part, many presenting scalable AI solutions already being implemented in real-world scenarios.
