Amar Sinha Likely To Take Over As Managing Director At Allied Blenders
Industry buzz around a possible leadership change at Allied Blenders & Distillers Ltd. (ABD) has intensified, with senior alco-bev executive Amar Sinha tipped to take over as Managing Director at the company.
The development follows Sinha's recent decision to step down as Chief Operating Officer of Radico Khaitan Limited, a role he has held since March 2017. He is expected to formally exit the company by 31 March 2026, after citing personal reasons in his resignation.

According to sources familiar with ongoing discussions, Allied Blenders is considering Sinha for a top leadership position, potentially marking a return to the company where he had previously served in an executive role during its earlier BDA structure. While an official confirmation is awaited, industry insiders indicate that conversations are underway regarding his appointment.
Sinha brings over three decades of experience in the alco-beverage and consumer goods sectors. His career began at Shaw Wallace Distilleries in 1983 as a management trainee, following which he went on to hold senior leadership roles across several major organisations.
Over the years, he has served as Managing Director and CEO at Whyte & Mackay India, Executive Director and CEO at BDA (now Allied Blenders & Distillers), Director and CEO at Golden Tobacco Ltd., and Managing Director of Playwin under the Zee Group. He has also held key positions at Herbertsons Ltd. under the UB Group and SmithKline Beecham.
Market observers note that any leadership transition at ABD could come at a time when the alco-beverage sector is witnessing heightened competition in premium categories, prompting companies to reassess leadership strategies and long-term growth plans.
Separately, some reports suggest that current ABD Managing Director Alok Gupta may be linked to a possible move to Radico Khaitan, although there has been no official announcement from either company so far.
A final decision regarding Sinha's next role is expected in the coming weeks as discussions continue within industry circles.
