Raja Saab Hit By Piracy As The Full Movie Leaked Online; Will It Affect Its Box Office Collection?

Prabhas' much-hyped new film The Raaj Saab hit the big screens on Friday amid strong buzz and high expectations from fans across the country. Marking the actor's return to a mass entertainer, the film opened to mixed reviews from critics and audiences alike.

While opinions on the storyline and execution remain divided, the film has still managed to register a decent start at the box office on its opening day. However, even as the makers were looking to capitalise on the opening weekend momentum, The Raaj Saab has fallen prey to piracy within hours of its theatrical release.

Illegal copies of the film have reportedly surfaced online and are being circulated freely on notorious piracy websites such as Tamilrockerz, Isaimini, Filmyzilla and Mp4moviez. Despite repeated warnings from the film industry and strict anti-piracy measures, these platforms continue to leak new releases, posing a serious challenge to filmmakers.

It is worth noting that The Raaj Saab has already locked its OTT deal. After completing its theatrical run, the film is set to stream on JioHotstar, which has acquired the digital rights. The makers are expected to make an official announcement regarding the streaming date closer to the end of the film's run in theatres.

On the box office front, The Raaj Saab has shown encouraging signs, especially in Telugu-speaking regions. According to early estimates from Sacnilk, the film has earned a net collection of over Rs 12 crore so far. On Friday, it recorded an overall Telugu occupancy of 50.92 per cent, indicating solid footfalls despite mixed word of mouth.

Region-wise data reveals that urban centres like the National Capital Region (NCR) and Mumbai witnessed relatively modest occupancy, at 13 per cent and 21 per cent respectively. Chennai recorded 26 per cent occupancy, while Bengaluru fared slightly better with 29 per cent across 975 shows. In contrast, the film performed strongly in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, with centres such as Guntur (62 per cent), Nizamabad (63 per cent) and Hyderabad (71 per cent) registering impressive numbers.

Smaller centres delivered even stronger occupancy, reflecting Prabhas' enduring mass appeal. Vijayawada reported 73 per cent occupancy, while Karimnagar, Kakinada and Vizag-Visakhapatnam posted remarkable figures of 83 per cent, 84 per cent and 85 per cent respectively.

With the opening weekend underway, all eyes are now on how The Raaj Saab sustains its momentum amid piracy concerns and mixed reviews. The coming days will be crucial in determining whether the film can translate its initial buzz into steady box office growth.
