LIK (Love Insurance Kompany) Movie Review: What's Good, What's Bad In Pradeep Ranganthan's Film?

Following the hatric success of Love Today, Dragon and Dude, Pradeep Ranganathan is back with his latest outing Love Insurance Kompany which has hit the screens on Friday.

Written and directed by Vignesh Shivan, the movie has SJ Suryah, Krithi Shetty, Seeman, Yogi Babu, Gouri G Kishan, Malavika and others in the cast. The film has Anirudh Ravichander's music, Pradeep E. Ragav's editing and Ravi Varman's cinematography.

Set in a world driven by data, the film imagines "Love Insurance" companies that use algorithms to evaluate, control, and even promise successful relationships. At its core, it asks whether love can really be reduced to numbers and predictions.

Pradeep's character, "Vibe Vassey," falls in love with Dheema (Krithi Shetty), a woman heavily reliant on her phone. Their bond is put to the test when an app labels them incompatible, leaving them torn between trusting technology or following their hearts.

SJ Suryah appears as the quirky and unconventional CEO of the Love Insurance company, bringing both humor and insight to the story.

Through its narrative, the film reflects on modern "situationships" and our increasing dependence on technology, raising the question of whether real human connection can survive in a world ruled by algorithms.

Haricharan Pudipeddi: #LIK - Trust Vignesh Shivan to take the wackiest of plot to deliver a fun, engaging film. A romantic comedy which questions the interference of technology in modern day relationships. The breezy, laid-back narration works in keeping the overall energy super lively. PR shines in yet another role that's right up his alley, along with Anirudh's music which is a major plus.

Let's X OTT GLOBAL: #LIK First Half - good concept Poor Execution from Vignesh Shivan.

Many scenes feels not relatable from reality. A major example is the interval sequence involving an "App vs. Heart" conflict, which fails to resonate with the audience. Biggest failure. 😕

The film tries hard to be funny, but most comedy sequences do not land. Specifically, the emotional subplots involving father sentiments with Seeman's character is not at all working....

Krithi Shetty delivers a solid performance and adds significant screen presence, serving as a visual highlight throughout the movie.

Haricharan Pudipeddi: #LIK at interval. Simple and breezy so far. The futuristic setup aside, this is a very accessible story of modern day love and the impact of technology on it. PR holds the first half with his effortless charm and Ani's music adds a lot of weightage.

Satheesh Rajaram: #Lik suffers from the same trope as KRK. Interesting idea and setup but handled at surface level. There are few funny, hilarious segments along with lot of cringe worthy segments. That being said, film gets salvaged in it's last 30 mins!! Harmless 1 time watch wth no expectations

The film's main USP is its futuristic world-building. It feels outlandish at times but generates some fun in the first half. The concept is interesting and has potential, but the execution doesn't come together.

The paper-thin plot gets exposed in the second half, and the film goes nowhere and feels dragged out. A few PR and SJ Suryah mark fun moments do land, but far too little for this to work. The production values are top notch.

Fun works in bits and pieces, but as a whole it's below par.

Though Unrealistic & Lengthy, Wikki's Fun treatment in Narration makes this a ENTERTAINING Watch!

Gowthama Buddhan: Many of #LIK scenes is quite on borderline cringe, one of the main reason why Naanum rowdy dhan worked is due to screen presence of Vijay sethupathi. Pradeep can't carry it convincing. This kinda films is SK's zone. I understand why wikki approached SK first.
