Shah Rukh Khan open to Don 3 comeback with a key demand

According to a report by TellyChakkar, Shah Rukh Khan is willing to reprise his iconic role in Don 3 under Farhan Akhtar's direction. However, the actor has reportedly placed a condition before committing to the film. Sources claim that Shah Rukh Khan wants Jawan director Atlee to be associated with the project. The idea behind this demand is said to be rooted in scaling up the film's vision and enhancing its mass appeal. At present, no official confirmation has been made and discussions are still ongoing.

Ranveer Singh steps away from the franchise

Ranveer Singh was earlier announced as the new Don, marking a generational shift for the franchise. However, he reportedly exited the project towards the end of last year. A Pinkvilla report shed light on the reason behind his decision, stating that the actor's career priorities have changed after the success of Dhurandhar. A source was quoted as saying, "He is keen to collaborate with filmmakers like Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Lokesh Kanagaraj, and Atlee, and at the same time, he doesn't want to be seen in back-to-back gangster films, especially since Dhurandhar is already established in that space."

Female lead and casting developments

Casting changes have not been limited to the male lead. Kiara Advani was initially roped in as the female lead opposite Ranveer Singh. Recent reports now suggest that she has exited the project. Kriti Sanon is believed to have stepped in as her replacement, though the makers are yet to issue any official announcement regarding the final casting.

Villain role remains unresolved

The antagonist's role in Don 3 is also reportedly under reconsideration. Actors Vikrant Massey and Vijay Deverakonda were approached for the part but declined the offer. According to reports, both actors felt that the character lacked sufficient depth, leading them to opt out of the project.
