Dhurandhar 2 Review: Ranveer's Film Bigger Than Sholay, Declares Ram Gopal Varma

Acclaimed-filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma has hailed Ranveer Singh's new movie Dhurandhar 2.

After watching the movie last night, he has claimed that the latest Hindi movie will be a much bigger hit than classic Sholay. In fact, he has said that the said movie and Mughal E Azam might look like "TV serials."

In a post on X, he said, "After last nights watch of #Dhurandhar2 in terms of it's sheer cumulative impact in every which way , whether on it's expected collections , audience euphoria , social influences , cinematic grammar breaking , and above all the psychological audio visual impact , it will be a SHOLAY x 100 level magnificence and is bound to make all the greatest films made so far starting from MUGHAL E AZAM. onwards look like TV SERIALS

Ranveer Singh-starrer movie also has Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, R Madhavan, Sara Arjun, Rakesh Bedi, and others in the cast. The movie is scheduled to be released on March 19 with special premeires to be held on Wednesday evening.

The advance booking of tickets have met with a great response with over 6 lakh tickets (including premieres) being sold across the country on leading multiplexes. In PVR alone, 1.5 lakh tickets have been sold.

The movie is now on the verge of breaking the advance ticket booking record of SS Rajamouli's Baahubali 2, which had sold 6.5 lakh tickets. It has already surpassed the likes of Jawaan (5.57 lakhs), Pathaan (5.56), KGF 2 (5.15), and Animal (4.6 lakh).
